Bike Hire FAQs
To help with your bike booking and ahead of your arrival with us, we have noted a few Frequently Asked Questions regarding our Bike hire service.
What is the difference between a hybrid bike and an electric bike?
Electric bikes are best-known for their pedal assisting feature. This means that they can make pedaling easier for you temporarily or consistently as you ride. This is especially helpful when going uphill.
Hybrid bikes rely on the user’s pedalling power alone and is best suited for someone looking for something more like a mountain bike but still rides well on paved roads.
How much charge is on the electric bikes?
On predominantly flat surfaces, on a medium speed setting, the electric bikes have approximately 4-hours of run time.
Do you provide bike helmets?
Yes. Bike helmets are included with the hire for your safety and we encourage you to wear one. Helmets should be returned with the bike after use. Any loss or damage to bike helmet will be charged at £20 per item.
Do you provide bike padlocks?
Yes. Padlocks and a key are provided when you collect your bike. Padlock and key should be returned with the bike. Any loss or damage to padlocks and/or key will be charged at £20 per item.
Are the bikes fitted with lights?
Yes, all bikes are fitted with front and rear lights. Lights should be on in low lighting even during the day. Press and hold switches the lights ON. Press once to change between static and flashing lights. Press and hold switches lights OFF.
Do you provide hire bikes for children?
Unfortunately we currently do not provide bikes for children. Hire bikes are suitable for 16+ years.
Do you provide bike trailers for children?
Unfortunately we do not provide bike trailers or bike seats for children.
Are baskets or bags provided for the bikes?
Some of our electric bikes have baskets fitted to the front of the bike, however we do not provide additional baskets or bags. Please ensure you have a suitable rucksack or similar if you have any belongings to carry.
What do I do if I encounter any problems whilst out on hire?
If you encounter any problems during your hire, the issue must be called in using the phone number on all bikes, 01294 204040. We will then offer assistance via phone or send our breakdown team to assist or swap with a replacement bike.
